The scent of honey, spices, and gingerbread has been as much a part of the pilgrimage site of Mariazell as the basilica itself for centuries. Our company is dedicated to the traditional crafts of gingerbread making, mead brewing, and wax-making, passing on time-honored recipes and techniques from generation to generation. This is how our unique Pirker gingerbread, delicious schnapps and liqueurs, and candles made from real beeswax are created, just as they were then.

A genuine love of craftsmanship and a passion for precious ingredients guide our daily work. The bee is at the heart of our work. After all, they provide us not only with the finest honey for our gingerbread and spirits, but also with valuable beeswax for the production of our candles. The best way to see our skills for yourself is to visit our unique, 3,500-square-meter "erLebzelterei" in the heart of the city.

Although our products have always enjoyed an excellent reputation and have already received countless awards, we don't rest on our laurels. We are constantly inventing new gingerbread varieties and flavor combinations and are the undisputed market leader in this field. We currently handcraft more than 400 specialty products in our factories, using state-of-the-art technology to support them – without losing sight of our tradition and craftsmanship.
